*Private Screening & Panel – Women Only*
Intl. Women’s Day, Women’s History Month
Join us to celebrate the strength of women throughout history.
Saturday, March 9th | 10a EST | NCG Cinemas-Peachtree City, GA
We are holding a private screening of Cabrini, a film about woman whose life speaks to us across time, and evidence of the impact one person can have should they decide to do so.
Francesca Cabrini was born near Milan, Italy, in 1850. Despite being told she would never live to see adulthood, she defied odds and embarked on a mission to serve others, co-founding the Institute of the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in 1880. In 1889, Cabrini and her sister companions immigrated to New York to help Italian immigrants face a new world.
Amidst chaos, poverty, and outright adversity, Cabrini and her companions established schools, orphanages, hospitals, and organized religious classes throughout the United States, including founding the Sacred Heart Orphan Asylum in rural New York, later renamed Saint Cabrini Home.
Today, that institute continues to fulfill diverse roles as educators, nurses, social workers, administrators, and board members worldwide. Cabrini passed away in 1917 Chicago.
Regardless of faith, this true story has made it to film—a remarkable woman who embraced destiny & adversity, refused to view her gender as weakness, lived meaningfully, and created a better life for others.
“The world is too small for what I intend to do.”
Francesca Cabrini
